Valve: TF2 Will have "something brand new"

Can you believe TF2 is almost five years old? That's a quarter of my life, watching this amazing game grow out of just being a part of The Orange Box and being partially overshadowed by the FPS Puzzler, Portal. Half a decade ago no one would think it would have gone free-to-play or that it would have such an expansive storyline, except maybe the guys at Valve. So where do we go from here?

Well, it appears some of the higher ups at Valve were talking on their fantastic TF2 blog and said that they have some big things planned for 2012 including the final piece of the "Meet the Team" puzzle, Meet the Pyro. You remember the Pyro? Gigantic, silent, shooting fire at you. Cheap, some may scream from the rooftops, but I think the Pyro is fearless, quiet and has one of the most anticipated videos from the Team series.

They also teased on the blog a whole new feature saying it would not be an "ungodly hat-map hybrid" and confirmed that they would not be working on a new map or hat. Some have rumoured a whole new class or even a machinima making section of the game. Well, we'll find out in less than ten months as Valve will probably bring more announcements in 2012 and we'll be here reporting on them.
