Tomb Raider: Anniversary ships to North America - Image 1

After the recent release of Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Anniversary over GameStop's new bid for digital media distribution (as promised), Eidos and Crystal Dynamics are happy to announce that Lara Croft has been shipped over to North America.

According to the official press release sent in today, Tomb Raider: Anniversary is a celebration of Lady Croft's past and a "revived passion" for new adventures. The game includes more than 10 years of technical advances to take fans of the original into a nostalgic experience through expanded environments, enhanced puzzles, updated weapons and enhancements to character movements.

"Tomb Raider: Anniversary is an exciting adventure for fans of the franchise and a great introduction to Lara Croft for a whole new generation of consumers," said Eidos' director of marketing Matt Gorman. Lara Croft has become a billion dollar brand equity since the original game sold more than seven million copies back in 1996. Anniversary is taking PC fans in Europe by storm and should do just as well in America.

Copies that have been shipped are the PC and PS2 versions of the game, although the PC version is tagged for machines installed with Windows Vista. The PSP and Wii version releases have been announced as to be nearing soon.
