That Valve/Overkill Collaboration is...a Map |

Fans were hoping for some big prequel-crossover type of thing when it was announced that Valve and Overkill were putting together some sort of Left 4 Dead/Payday: The Heist collaboration. Pretty quickly, those expectations were put to rest.
Instead we get a map (Mercy Hospital) and a Left 4 Dead character that will show up in this new DLC for Payday: The Heist. There will also be "a fun little easter egg with a payoff later in Left 4 Dead" according to Valve's Chet Faliszek.
Clarifying further, he added, "This is a 100% Overkill made mission for Payday: The Heist simply set in no mercy hospital from the Left 4 Dead series. It is not telling the origins of the Infection and it is not canon."
Check out the trailer below; it will look familiar if you played Left 4 Dead. No word yet on date or price, or if it will be available on PS3. Fingers crossed.
