Techland: We're trying to do something mature with Dead Island

If you're looking for good ol' zombie comedy in Dead Island, you're looking for it in the wrong place. Developer Techland spoke about the game in the latest issue of the magazine PC Gamer, and here, they clearly state that their aime with this game is really to "do something mature".

Producer Adrian Ciszewski expounds on this: "It's not about funny Dead Rising stuff. It's not like there's a crazy doctor with crazy experiments."

They're so serious about making it mature that Ciszewski was even report to having his leg broken in an attempt to show an actor during a motion capture session how it is to properly fall down as a zombie.

Dead Island is touting itself as a "first-person action with a heavy focus on melee combat, character development and customization of a vast array of weapons." It is expected to come out sometime this year on the platforms PS3, PC and Xbox 360.

Now this is a game I truly can't wait for. Hope it'll live up to the hype it has created.

If I see children in the game like in the trailer, Dead Island would become such a landmark in the industry

I mean GTA hasn't even touched the inclusion of children, I can't name any games that have maturely
