Team Fortress 3 to help promote TF2's upgrades |
Listed in: News Tags: team fortress 2, valve
Apparently, there's some trouble in the realm of the four-year old PC Valve title, Team Fortress 2. The only probable solution to it: a new title.
Develop reports that Valve employee Robin Walker is advocating for a new Team Fortress title, one that should further promote the existing sequel's significant updates. For example, the in-game microtransactions and the video replay feature. For some reason, they have supposedly been having some trouble spreading the word to the rest of the market.
Said Walker, "The choice is that work on Team Fortress 3 would solve some problems but create other ones. Maybe the shift to that new project could be in a few years. Maybe it could be tomorrow. Maybe it was six months ago and we should have made the decision to shift to a new project and we missed it.

TF2 has changed significantly since it was first shipped. Customers who consumed its marketing message three years ago might not have been interested in playing but might be really interested today, because the game has changed so much.
Maybe there is a value in having a fully updated version called TF3, to again communicate to those fans that the series has moved on. Maybe, I don't know. Doing so would create problems of its own."

i think ps3/360 players deserve a standalone tf2 title. i'd be happy if it was just the steam version with its upgrades.
we ps3/360 players are STILL playing vanilla tf2 after all these years.
tf3 is unfathomable to me
