Stop Your Whining, Start Complaining |
Listed in: News Tags: complaining, games analyst, gaming industry, Michael Pachter
Just like the old grape joke, whining is annoying. Michael Pachter agrees, in a recent video in which he talks about gamers who whine rather than complain, the difference between the two activities and why gamers who whine are ‘little bastards’.

He also talks about licensing, revenue and how free to play MMO’s (like League Of Legends) can make money. But his talk on whining is really what’s at hand here, as we have been seeing a dilemma in recent months (particularly with a little game called Mass Effect 3) where gamers are split between either seeing themselves as being entitled to a product that meets their standards and who will protest against otherwise, or gamers who see the other side as whiners.
What do you think? In the new world of DLC being almost standard, updates and patches fixing bugs and features that are usually riddled with problems, do you think that gamers who demand more are complainers or whiners?
You can watch Michael's rant here at Gametrailers.

Sounds more like Pachter is whining about whining.

Nope. You are 100%, flat out wrong. That's not what he said at all.
Basically he said what YOU (Cyber Akuma) does on this site is completely worthless. You whine and whine and whine and whine and do nothing but talk shit about the gaming industry and cry about what YOU are not getting and what YOU deserve.
He then goes on to discuss what would be considered appropriate behavior. What would be considered a real complaint.
It doesn't surprise me at all that you completely failed to understand what he said.

You know, I DO admit I misread the article now that I go over it again, however, like usual, your reply has very little to do with the acticle article and was more just you wanting to take on a personal vendetta with me using insults that I last heard in gradeschool.
Are you mentally incapable of telling people why you think they are wrong without just slinging insults left and right like 8 year old?

Very good. You're learning to grow up.
"just you wanting to take on a personal vendetta with me "
You mean like how you replied to me and not thunderdome? STFU hypocrite. The more you type, the more you prove how much of a whiny little bitch you are.

He specifically states and I quote:
"I respect anybody's right to say, I didn't receive the value I negotiated when I bought this product"
He also said:
"As consumers you absolutely have the right to complain about poor services and poor products, you SHOULD complain, that will make them better"
What part of that did you not understand? What are you? Blind, deaf and dumb?
And you wonder why so many people slam you? It's like you ask for it.
"Sounds more like Pachter is whining about whining."
It sounds more like you're an idiot that doesn't understand anything you read.

COD gets released then same day there is 5 Map packs.....a complaint would go along the lines of not purchasing the DLC Making sure you pursuade as many.
people as possible not to aswell, if that doesnt get your message across stop buying the publishers games full stop, believe it or not publishers dont read forums and even if they do they really dont care aslong as you keep paying them,
whereas a whine is "boooohooo now i have to buys these aswell i know what will teach them i will errr buy there next dlc aswell, oh and the next one infact ill buy everything they churn out then they will be sure to make a product that is as complete as possible at day 1"
Even a Email to the actual publisher showing your dissapointment with the way they are milking the gaming industry is better than whinging in a remote forum somewhere

If people talk the talk, but won't walk the walk, then it's pointless.
This guy just used the wrong words to describe what he meant.
