Steam Big Picture Beta Starts Tomorrow |

Coming fresh off the heels of Valve's announcement that they would be somehow hopping into the hardware business, we now have some other news from the Half-Life creators to share with you. According to my source, Steam's so-called Big Picture initiative will begin beta testing tomorrow! That's right; in less than twenty-four hours some gamers will be able to get a glimpse of what the future of the company holds. The developers of this new software claim that they are hoping to move their clientele from their dens to their big screen with a freshly designed interface.

Most gamers that are familiar with Valve's Steam service are also familiar and perhaps comfortable with having to find a lot of their content from the computers. Ever since the service has launched, booting up the old PC and waiting for your newly purchased software to download has become a crucial part of the experience. Valve however is looking to push that time spent in front of our monitors to a much bigger stage.
Instead of sitting in our dimly lit dens, Valve's Big Picture encourages us to think bigger by creating a Steam user interface that is built specifically for that wonderful plasma you have in your living room. Just grab your favorite remote, and supposedly the PC store will guide you through the rest of the process. Come Monday, that very process could be yours. While we are unsure if the beta is invite or open at this point, we will tell you as soon as we know. Your CS games just got a whole lot bigger.
