Remember all those fun times you had rushing at the poor defenseless Terrans when you played the Zerg faction in the original Starcraft? Well, Blizzard is giving you the chance to do so again as it introduces the new and improved Zerg forces in this update for the upcoming PC title, StarCraft 2.

Today's feature takes a look at two of the medium assault units most used by the Overmind against the other sentient races of the galaxy. Fans of the series may recognize them from their new facelifted models as the Hydralisk and the Mutalisk mutations of the Zerg faction.

Taking a look at some of the screenshots from the game, both units haven't really changed that much from their original design. But you can bet your plasma rifles that these two Zerg monstrosities still pack the same punch they did in the previous StarCraft.

As if that's not enough, you can also take a look at the background lore behind the collective Swarm intelligence known as the Zerg. There's even a tiny section dedicated to Sarah Kerrigan, the Queen of Blades herself.

All in all, the highly awaited sequel is shaping up to be one game all RTS fans should definitely get their hands on once it goes live. There's been no announcement when StarCraft 2 will be released, however, so in the meantime, enjoy the rest of the art and screenshots we've collected from the official website. Enjoy!
