The recent word from STALKER 2 developers GSC going under was a tragedy for gamers, both indie and mainstream. If you've never played STALKER, it's like $10 on Steam right now. It is one of the hardest, coolest and most expansive games you'll ever play. A completely immersive experience that will terrify and excite you all at once as you trek through the most dangerous and disturbed nuclear wastelands.

However, a word of hope came through the wire recently from the GSC World developers saying:

Dear Stalkers: We will not be releasing any official news until around mid January. However there is a cause for hope! Good hunting.

This could mean one of two things, GSC has found funding from someone awesome or they have been bought up by a big company and STALKER will be re-released and eventually, STALKER 2. Either way GSC is a shining beacon in the game developing world and you should really go and buy STALKER right now!
