Spore release date posted in Amazon

Amazon.com has listed the PC version of Spore's release date as March 3, 2008. Earlier reports about this game said that it would be released early next year and that development is still on track. Well, it looks like Maxis and Electronic Arts made good on that statement.

This game is high on the watch list of many a gamer considering it was created by none other than Will Wright. Spore retains the open-ended gameplay aspect popularized by Wright in his previous games like SimCity.

However, this seems like a culmination of his previous titles since you raise your civilization from one celled organism all the way to a space faring race. The players get to decide almost every aspect of the species from its body structure to the color of its eyes.

It looks like we have yet another date to mark on our calendar. If you're more of a console gamer, you might want to know that Spore will not only be released on the PC but on the Nintendo DS and Mobile Phones as well.

and why wouldnt you say spore release date posted on official website seeing as thats where it was posted first.
