Skyrim Played On A Tablet

CES again, and Nvidia and ASUS are teaming up to show off The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim being played on their latest tablet, known as Transformer Prime. Interesting name, I can’t help but think of a certain franchis-never mind. Let’s focus on the device and not its name.

It’s accomplished by the wonders of streaming, using an app called Splashtop THD. Splashtop is already around for Android and iOS, but Splashtop THD is a new and improved version, which isn’t out just yet.

Basically it streams what’s going on on your PC, and streams that to the tablet at 720p with almost seamless ease. Your inputs and controls on the tablet are sent to the PC, and the two make sweet wireless gaming magic, which can be seen in video below.

The delay is apparently less than 15ms, so it’s a darn sight better than OnLive, and that seems to satisfy a lot of gamers.
