Skyrim: Hearthfire DLC Announced |
Listed in: News Tags: elder scrolls, hearthfire, skyrim
The game's developer has just announced a new DLC for the multiplatform epic RPG that is sure to get you excited. For those that think the Dawnguard expansion was just a little bit too violent, as the name implies, this new add-on will add some of the more homier touches to an already realistic gaming experience. Instead of just hacking and slashing the bad guys, Hearthfire will give you the miracle of a full fledged livelihood within the game.

While this may be a little bit of a let down for those that are looking for more epic side-quests and battles within the Skyrim universe, Bethesda has taken a step back in an effort to really add a human effect to the game with Hearthfire. Instead of adding more gore, you'll be able to give yourself a shiny new home for your character instead. With intricate models that range from a green house to an alchemist's den, you'll be able to find any model residence that is sure to suit your character's personality. By building from the ground up, it seems customization will be heavily emphasized here.
Aside from building a home, Hearthfire will also allow you to build you own family as well including a child that bares your likeness. While not much has been revealed about how such child-rearing practices effect the gameplay, you can bet that some achievements or bonuses will be in store for the best mommys and daddys.
If this sounds like your kind of thing, you can get it Xbox Live September 4th with other platform releases to possibly be announced later.

The PS3 hasn't even gotten Dawnguard yet.
Not that I can complain much, since I have the Xbox 360 version, but still...

It wasn't left out in development or included as locked content, and it isn't horse armor.
Although, I do think that certain parts of this DLC and the last DLC should have been available in a patch or when it launched.
