Ship Sim 2006Avast, me landlubbers! We know ye olde terra ferma be weakening yer scallywag knees, so ye better "ship" up, if ye ken our "drift"! Bwahahaha! [chugs a keg of rum and drops dead-drunk on the planks]

Sorry 'bout that folks. Moving on... If Sid Meier's Pirates is a bit, umm, passe to you, you might want to try your hand at a more modern swashbuckling adventure. Ok, not so much as swashbuckling, but fun all the same.

Lighthouse Interactive is setting sail with a release of a special collectors edition of Ship Simulator 2006 this November in UK (you can also get it over at the game.co.uk website). Together with Game Stores Group, the title will dock on the shelves of GAME stores for £19.99 (about 38 US dollars) and consist of a 2CD box set. Here are the special features included:
  • the New York Harbour (version 1.6)
  • all video tutorials including the Mission Editor
  • trailers of the game
  • 20 user created missions
If you're new to this whole Ship Simulator 2006 gig, you can assume from the title what it's all about. It's a ship sim. Here you get to captain a ship, whether a cargo ship, a skipper, a yacht, or even the Titanic itself (Jack and Rose not included)! You'll also have missions that will let you set sail through various waters from Carribean waters to the world's biggest harbors.

So, are you your own Skipper?
