Did you miss out on the initial SimCity beta from last month? Well, there’s some good news. You’ll have another shot in a week when the second closed beta period rolls around for the Maxis’ upcoming city-building title.

The second beta period for SimCity will only last for 24 hours, and it’s slated for February 16th. The period will end on February 17th at 6AM PDT. Maxis is currently accepting applicants for the beta at the SimCity site. If you want to sign up, you’ll have until 6AM PDT this Monday, February 11th to do so. If you already registered for the first beta, there’s no need to register again.
Acceptance into the first beta period doesn’t guarantee that you’ll get to play this time around, but you could be chosen for a second time if you are lucky. Applicants who are accepted into the second beta will receive a unique download code and instructions on how to get the game started on February 16th.
The second beta is limited to PC gamers, and the developer said it’s being held mostly to test the SimCity’s servers. “We have added more capacity to our servers in order to accommodate the flow of players. This beta will help us stress test them,” said Maxis.
The official version of SimCity is set to be released on March 5th.
