Report: Square Enix files trademarks for next Hitman game |
Listed in: News Tags: hitman, hitman 5, hitman: absolution, IO Interactive, Square Enix

Rumors of a new installment in the Hitman franchise have been floating around for a while now. IO Interactive has already confirmed that a new Hitman is indeed in development, but aside from that we haven't heard anything official in a long while.
This might change pretty soon, however. Gaming news site Siliconera has spotted what appears to be trademark filings for the next Himtan game which apparently won't be called Hitman 5 after all. If the trademark filings are any indication, Agent 47's next adventure will be called Hitman: Absolution.
The trademark was reportedly filed by Square Enix Europe, the company formerly known as Eidos Interactive. The filing seems to only be for the European region, but this coupled with the teaser image that IO Interactive let last month seem to point to the possibility that the next Hitman is due to come out of the shadows soon.
