Report: Prey 2 shaping up to be way different from original |

Original Prey developer Human Head Studios is still handling development duties on the sequel, but according to a report from video game news blog Kotaku Prey 2 is shaping up to become a totally different beast compared to the original.
Kotaku reports that one of their sources have revealed that Prey protagonist Tommy Tawodi won't be the main character in the sequel. That mantle falls on the shoulders of a federal air marshall who happened to be on board a plane that crashed into an alien spaceship in the early moments of Prey.
The game's opening, which features the air marshall fighting off aliens on their ship, will serve to tie the two games together. After that, players end up on an alien world where the air marshall is the only human bounty hunter. I guess that explains the high-tech regalia he's wearing on the cover of Game Reactor.

Prey 2 will reportedly be an open-world first-person shooter that offers players multiplaye ways to complete objectives. Players will get missions through a communicator and can gather intel via a scanner that reveals the intentions and identities of the alien world's denizens. The game will also reportedly have a heavy emphasis on platforming.
Prey 2 is currently scheduled for release next year on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
