Red Faction: Armageddon fails to impress Best Buy mag

How do you like THQ's Red Faction: Armageddon? Unfortunately, Best Buy magazine doesn't seem to think too much of it, practically dissing it in their review.

The June 2011 issue of @Gamer magazine flatly scored Armageddon with a 2.5 out of 5 rating, this despite the game having some pretty fair scores from other critics. It's "a step backwards", so claimed the review, which probably why for them, it merits to be in the same league as Thor. And as if to rub salt in the wounds, they characterized the game as "dull" and "intolerable". They weren't all too fond of the characters, too, nor the plotline, which they deemed to be "aimless."

In all, it was "boring" for @Gamer. It does beg question, though, if the game really does deserve that much criticism from the magazine. It just doesn't add up with the other reviews. Anyway, judgment really wouldn't be that much credible unless we actually get our hands on it, but if you want to check out some of its gameplay in action, check out this motion video right here. If you like what you see, then you go pick up a copy now. Hopefully you got to place your pre-orders way before, because the bonuses are pretty cool.

Red Faction: Armageddon came out just earlier today, June 7th, in the US. Europe is getting it on June 10th. Game comes out for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
