Rockstar Games' Red Dead Redemption stood head and shoulders above the rest of the pack at this year's Game Developers Choice Awards as it bagged four wins, including the coveted Game of the Year Award.
Swedish developer Mojang's Minecraft also scooped up three accolades: Best Debut Game, Best Downloadable Game, and the Innovation Award. To top it off, Minecraft was also awarded the Seumas McNally Grand Prize earlier during the 11th Annual Independent Games Festival Awards. The game now holds the distinction of being the first to be recognized by both the GDCA and the IGF in the same year.

Lionhead Studios founder Peter Molyneux was also presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award for his more than 30 years of contributions the video game industry. Sega veteran and Shenmue and OutRun creator Yu Suzuki was also awarded with the 2011 Pioneer Award.
The Game Developers Choice Awards were given out during a ceremeny at UBM TechWeb Game Network's 25th Game Developers Conference at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. Award winners were picked by developers, with the chosen via a combination of open game industry nominations and the votes of the leading creators in the Choice Awards Advisory Committee.
