TERA isn’t the best MMO in the world. Maybe. It’s definitely one of the best-looking and most fun, but the quests and content aren’t exactly revolutionary. If you like hopping in on an MMO for a couple of hours at a time but aren’t looking for any sort of sweeping narrative or compelling character arc, TERA is a perfectly serviceable option.
And hey, what better way to find out if you like the game than by downloading it for free? As of right this very moment, the popular action-combat MMO is completely free-to-play. TERA, now titled TERA: Rising, also has a bunch of new content in the form of dungeons and battle arenas.
So give it a shot. Get yourself a sexy elf and go punch a giant monster in the face. Is there any better way to spend a Tuesday morning?

Although I suspect that the original paid subscription is still in effect and f2p players only have access to limited volitionality. It's better than nothing I guess
