Project Redlime is Starbreeze's biggest project yet

Among the games that developer Starbreeze has worked on are The Darkness and The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay. The game they're working on right now, codenamed Project Redlime, is going to be way bigger than those two.

"We are currently working on one game together with EA code name 'Redlime'. This is pretty much all I can say right now," Starbreeze CEO Mikael Nermark told gaming news ste CVG. "Redlime is the biggest project the studio has ever worked on."

Nobody from either EA or Starbreeze has outright stated what Project Redlime actually is, but rumors have been suggesting for quite a while that it's a reboot of Bullfrog's old Syndicate series.

The Swedish studio was originally working on Redlime alongside development of a new Bourne game for EA. The latter ended up being canned by EA, but it seems Starbreeze is fine with moving beyond the constraints of a licensed IP.

"All games have their pros and cons, but of course you could be more creative working on a none contemporary setting," said Nermark. Whatever the project is, if it's an original IP or license, the most important thing is that you believe in the game and have fun developing it."
