Peggle 2 Confirmed via Job posting |

If you've never played Peggle 2, you have truly not lived. Being able to get such enjoyment from throwing tiny balls at stationary pieces of coloured curvy blocks, is strange and unique. No one feels this excitement with Breakout and it looks like we'll be getting more madness from PopCap as a recent job opening on Gamasutra has given an insight into a new game.
The advert reads that they are working on a "stylistic reboot of [their] Peggle franchise." This helps play with the rumours PopCap's Adam Orth tweeted a few weeks ago. He referenced needing a new art director for a Peggle project, which was subsequently deleted and Orth was hit upside the head with a plushie.
Peggle is a fun and crazy game of arcade style insanity of throwing balls, racking up poitns and listening to "Ode to Joy," however, I don't think the game really needs a new art style. I really like it's overly cutesy sentiment towards time-wasting and having fun. Although, it comes as no surprise since EA bought them up this year, they probably want a bit of change.
With change, however, they want someone with seven years worth of experience as an art director to join a new "Peggle Frnachise Studio". They will be in charge of defining and directing a "stylistic" reboot of the game series...can't wait for it as long as the gameplay stays the same and it looks fun...and if it's cheaper than $15.
