Pachter: Battlefield 3 won't top Call of Duty |

Wedbush analyst Michael Pachter gave his thoughts on whether EA's Battlefield 3 will be able to de-throne Call of Duty in the first-person shooter genre.
"There is no prayer that Battlefield 3 will top the next Call of Duty, silly question," Pachter said. "EA is trying to gain share incrementally, and I'm sure that if it is a great game, Battlefield 3 will sell 25 - 35% more copies than the last version. It would have to sell around 300% more than the last version to topple Call of Duty."
Call of Duty: Black Ops has broken several sales records in the United States, and Activision has recently claimed it is the best-selling video game of all time, although that particular claim has yet to be proven.
The question you didn't ask is whether Battlefield 3 will take share," he finished. "Based upon the growing installed base of CoD multiplayer players, it's possible that both games will see higher sales in 2011, so I wonder whether EA will actually 'take' share."

In fact Black Ops is the only CoD I "liked".
That means of course that it only held my attention a little bit longer than the previous games.

Its more of a decision of the player though, you either like to run and gun or you enjoy team work where everyone needs to work together. I like the challenge of team work and having better options and the crew at DICE has really out done themselves with the series but I think over all Bad Company was under rated and I am willing to bet that the people over at COD would love the game if they gave it a chance but the true heads will defend COD just for the sake of being loyal.
Battle Field 3 will be an insane game and when it releases I will be pumping out the dough for my shot at killing everything in sight but isn't it crazy that so many people would rather deal with small maps and no rides just so they can run their flaps on their 500/2 win they had one day all with nothing more than a knife and marathon shoes on.
I'll take having everything for the money, I call it "Drama Free Game Play" (love the fact I can only hear my own squad) because theirs nothing worse listening to people cry and moan over a game that I spent top dollar on, Its like Jerry Springer released every past guest from the show in the game just to drive you insane.
BFBC3 is my vote even if it doesn't sell that many.
