For those of you that don't know what all the hype behind Ouya is about, Ouya is a gaming console that will run off of Google's Android OS. As most of us know, this OS has become pretty famous for how open it is, which makes it an interesting choice to be used for a game console. Essentially, by backing this OS any user will have the ability to create a program for the Ouya and allow the creator to price it as they see fit. Inspired by the homebrew scenes for most major consoles, the Ouya takes things one step further by allowing us complete control without having to battle against corporations trying to protect their investment. In short the Ouya is a hacker's dream.

That being said, the creators of the system wanted to see if there was enough demand for the system before they put production into full throttle. To measure this, they began what was called the Kickstarter initiative, which asked users to give donations as they see fit. With a goal originally set at $950,000 fans have shattered that goal many times over with a grand total of $8,596,475. Clearly then, this proves there is indeed a market for the Ouya. With a community already coming out of the wood work, it seems like this console just might be the solution that scene lovers have been searching for. Will you be getting an Ouya?

if it doesnt attract some decent developers or franchies ( not 1 or 2) ..it will be back marker. i like de concept but i dont think it can compete wid big players. ppl like COD( for eg), so they will obivously want it on this console as well ...but looking at its specs, i wonder it might look like ps1 games. N, to play angry bird on TV?....OH GOD!!!!!!! :-x

Some of these comments are piss poor, no one seems to know that the tegra 3 can put out graphics comparable to the xbox 360 and can even run the unreal 3 engine. Don't trash talk shit until you learn about it please.
