Nuketown 2025 Is Back |

If you've been a part of Call of Duty: Black Ops II's Double XP weekend, the bad news is all of that great fun has come to a close. From here on out, you'll be leveling up at a much more standard rate which might put a damper on some. As part of this date, Nuketown 2025 was also planned to be pulled from servers, but it's amazing what a little fan response can do.

Last night Treyarch's David Vonderhaar tweeted to announce the end of the CoD Double XP weekend by saying "Double XP weekend is official [sic] over. That means Nuketown 2025 / 24-7 is as well. I know. Right? Don't kill the messenger." Clearly he knew that there was going to be some back lash over the loss of this preorder exclusive, and boy was he right.
As soon as the map had been taken down, it only took a few hours for the Call of Duty community to explode in dismay. There's no doubt when we have the opportunity to experience any sort of futuristic nuclear war, we want more of it so we took to the web and battled for our rights to continue fragging our 2025 friends.
In reponse to this outcry, the same man who announced the removal came back to officially state that the map has returned as a part of the Chaos Moshpit playlist. While you won't be able to play in a loop, you will occasionally get to have a round in Nuketown alongside maps like Carrier, Cargo, Expressed, Hijacked, Slums, and Standoff. It certainly isn't a perfect solution, but as promised the 24/7 variety will reappear for special events and holidays. Thanksgiving perhaps? Either way, Nuketown has found a semi-permanent home in Black Ops II.
