No more delays for Nuke Dukem Forever, Pitchford guarantees |

CEO Randy Pitchford made the reassuring statement to Forbes, following the recent delay of the game, which was supposed to have come out last week.
Asked if the new June shipping date will finally hold, he replied, "Yeah, yeah. We're pretty confident. I mean, at this point it would take an act of God to prevent that."
Don't dare God, is all I would say on this. He also explained once more what caused the delay:
"There's a lot of complexity in making video games, and this is not the first game to have a small shift near the end like this. And Duke Nukem isn't even the first Gearbox game to do this, or the first Take-Two or 2K Game to do this...
In the course of making video games, there's a lot of uncertainty that's tied up into tests that aren't complete yet. And a lot of the tests in making video games are dependent upon technology, software engineering, creativity - it's not like an assembly line. It's not like I have all the pieces and we're constructing it... there's uncertainty wrapped up in any given task. And it's the sum of all that uncertainty that creates your possibility for variance.

When we announced the game was going to come out in May, we believed it. We had done the math, compared that to all our past experiences, and we believed we had a bit of cushion in there, too. But it turned out that there were a number of things to do and a lot of them, maybe most of them, were on the development side. Things took a little longer than we anticipated.
And I'll tell you, the pressure to not change the date with this particular game was tremendous... especially when you know you could force it. We just talked it through and we thought about the consequences... but we came to the conclusion that the results would be better if we [postpone release] than if we force it for May."
Duke Nukem Forever is reset to come out for North America on June 14th, while the rest of the world gets it earlier on June 10th.

HELLYEAH!
I wish this was a first person - third person combo game. It would be like the ULTIMATE GTA but better. (nothing to do with Rockstar :P)
