A Battlefield 3 beta is being prepped for launch this month, ahead of the highly anticipated shooter's October late release. While PC gamers will be treated to the return of the Command Rose interface, fans of the series will still have to wait until launch before they can try it out.
DICE's Community Manager, Daniel 'Zh1nt0' Mstros, has confirmed via Twitter that the Command Rose interface will not be included in the beta build. The feature was also excluded in the builds that DICE showed off during Gamescom. The Command Rose interface allows players to quickly send pre-set messages to other players. It's particularly useful for those playing without a headset and mic.
Neither DICE nor publisher Electronic Arts have announced a specific launch date for the beta other than it will happen sometime this month. Gamers can get a beta slot either by pre-ordering the PC version of the game through Origin, owning last year's limited edition of the Medal of Honor package or having an Xbox Live Gold membership.
