PC gamers of Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit should let out a sigh of relief now that Criterion Games has now released a patch for most of the bugs that's been hindering you from enjoying the game to the fullest.

Reportedly, this patch should puts the "patched" rate of the game to about 77% of all "known" bugs taken out in Hot Pursuit. If this be true, then that's definitely a huge amount of improvement. There's still some more left, but based on the numbers, it shouldn't be too much of a hassle for you guys anymore. Criterion's promising though, that they will be coming out with another one to finally get the game totally bug-free, although they have yet to give a date when it's coming out.

In the meantime, here's what's in the changelog of the new Hot Pursuit patch, which you can download via the official website:

  • Fixed crashes on boot on certain configurations of Windows (including when Windows Speech Recognition is installed)
  • Fixed deadzone issues on Steering Wheels and XInput controllers
  • Fixed black textures in some parts of the world when High Resolution Textures are disabled
  • Fixed crash when a controller is unexpectedly disconnected
  • Fixed crash when loading certain invalid controller configuration files
