New Rage Catalyst drivers out

id Software has sent out a little PSA to gamers who have the PC version of the recently-released first person shooter, Rage. Posting on the official Rage Twitter account, the studio asked PC gamers whose rigs have AMD / ATI graphics cards to download the latest Rage Catalyst drivers from AMD.

"If you have an AMD/ATI graphics card, the new RAGE Catalyst drivers are out! BE SURE to grab them immediately," reads the announcement. You can download the driver here.

The Rage Catalyst driver offers significant performance gains for gaming rigs with single GPU configurations. It also comes with the latest OpenGL driver component to allow for further performance optimizations. The driver is compatible with AMD Radeon 6000 and AMD Radeon 5000 cards.

Rage came out in North America yesterday to a mostly positive reception. There was some negative feedback regarding the game's linearity but id says it's supposed to be like that. The game will be released in Europe on Friday.
