New game from Super Meat Boy creator disturbingly cute. |

With the popularity of Dungeons of Dredmor and the love of a few dungeon dwelling levels of Legend of Zelda may prepare you for this new title from Edmund McMillen.
With a title based on the classic Old Testament story of God tricking a man into killing his one and only son...what can you expect from a story like that? Well, let's just say it's a bit messed up.
McMillen has described the game himself as "a roguelike shooter based on the dungeon structure of the NES version of Zelda". The game takes place in a procedurally-generated world which is filled with powerups, items and special abilities. The game will contain "4 full chapters spanning 8 levels" and will include at least 14 bosses. The game looks pretty fun and could be a good time filler, but the trailer is like something directed by Chris Cunningham.
Super Meat Boy and the humility from the developers have catapulted both McMillen and his team into a great place that where many developers dare to tread. A place where they have respect for their players as well as for the games they make. The game will be available via Steam in September and I can't wait to see what happens.
