Blizzard has dished out another round of account suspensions and bans in StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty for players who have been caught cheating and hacking while playing the RTS sequel.

In a post over at Battle.net, Blizzards notes...

"We recently issued a new round of account suspensions and bans to StarCraft II players who were in violation of the Battle.net Terms of Use for cheating and/or using hack programs while playing. In addition to undermining the spirit of fair competition that’s essential to play on Battle.net, cheating and hacking can lead to stability and performance issues with the service.

Blizz added that as always, their main prioirty is to maintain "a stable, safe, and secure online-gaming experience for legitimate players," and they will continue to keep watch on Battle.net and take action as needed. Those caught cheating by hacking their client will face a permanent ban from Battle.net, and will be forced to buy a new copy of the game if they want to play again.

Fully deserved, so be it if you do it in an offline single player mode but keep it away from the rest of us...

i too share ur preference for being 'OK' to cheat on offline games, but when it affects the balance of online just to gain a few stats, thats where i draw the line

I haven't encountered any hackers in multiplayer, which is very refreshing. It is a highly competetive game and I'm glad blizzard is banning cheaters to keep it fair and competitive. Awesome balanced game
