More BioShock woes: SecuROM prevents installation after 2nd try |
Ó
Looks like PC gamers are having a hard time with BioShock, but problems don't stop with widescreen issues or crashing bugs. Some discussions over at the official 2K Games forums are heating up over BioShock's copy protection which prohibits installation of the game more than twice.
Some keen eyes tracked down SecuROM, the game's front against piracy, and found out that an activation code can only be used two times. Trying to use a code for the third time will result in an error that you see above. Consequently, future hardware changes may prevent you from playing the game. Blogger Ceasar S. is in a fit, because he can't upgrade his machine after he activates 2K Games' BioShock (also out for Microsoft's Xbox 360).
A few posters at the forums claim to have received emails from SecuROM after complaining about the issue. The response they got read: "You've activated your game too often. Please contact 2K Games regarding this issue."

owned I guess people are screwed until a patch comes out
You can only have Bioshock active on 2 computers at the same time. There is no limit to how many times you can uninstall or reinstall it.
you know what, dead box 360 sucks. this forum isnt about that but you pc gamers should be happy you have a system that wont give you the read ring of death. hey pc gamers, how the fcvk do you use a keyboard and mouse to play games? pc's are nice for porn, why fcvk it up with playing games, and do you pc gamers realize that killzone 2 is better than crysis. killzone 2 has way better animation and the graphics are way better. lol pc gamers, im just playing (although killzone 2 is better ). i dont want to start a war between ps3 gamers and pc gamers although you guys must have alien arms to play your pc games. anyway pc gamers, ill see you all on ut3 where my sixaxis controller will dominate over all keyboard and mouse player. ps3 is the future and the future is ps3
Well so much for those PC gamers, i hope this happens on the 360 system haha.
that`d be cool i`m just waiting till theres another bug in MS hardware :P
this is why i prefer a console. Alot cheaper and way less problems.
...I just bought a P6N Diamond to replace my P35 Platinum, and now I'm fearful that the game will have to be tied down to a second "machine" - even if its the same machine albeit upgraded. *sigh!*
Y bother with them? My 2005 pc is already fking old? Plz i aint doing nothin to it until another 4 yrs. And no i will not buy games that are out TODAY 4 yrs later
