Monster Hunter logoCapcom's Monster Hunter is pretty much known to be a PlayStation franchise, with various titles off the series having previously appeared on PS2 and PSP (Monster Hunter Freedom and Monster Hunter Portable 2, and soon on the PS3 (Monster Hunter 3). Ever wondered whether the franchise will expand to PC gaming as well?

Well wonder no more, because according to Siliconera, Capcom is indeed planning on branching out to PCs with Monster Hunter Frontier. Oh yes, the new action RPG game off the series is currently in the works and we have the first batch of details right here!
  • Required specs: Windows XP, a Pentium III processor 1 GHz or faster, 256 MB of RAM, a video card with 64MB of memory and at least 800 MB of hard drive space.
  • Unlike its console brethren, Frontier will only be playable online where hunters can group with up to four other users to play the game.
  • The game will have a "dedicated community" much like Phantasy Star Online. No word from Capcom yet on whether there will be fees to pay and whether Frontier will be released outside Japan. (Let's keep our fingers crossed for this one, fellas.)
  • Closed beta will begin on January 25th.
Well there ya have it guys, Monster Hunter Frontier will be heading to PCs soon, so we strongly advise you keep checking back with us for more details on the game. We'll keep you posted.
