Here's some more good news to all the MechWarrior fans out there. In celebration of BattleTech's 25th anniversary, Smith & Tinker has given MekTek the go signal for MechWarrior 4 to be distributed for free on BattleTech.com. It's a nice way of getting old fans reacquainted with the series as well as to draw interest for the new MechWarrior reboot for PC and Xbox 360.
Exactly when the free download will go live hasn't been announced yet, so just keep an eye out for it on BattleTech.com. The announcement from Smith & Tinker also mentioned that the release will be worldwide and will include all of the MechWarrior 4 expansions. Not sure if this includes the standalone Mercenaries expansion or if it's limited to Black Knight and the Mech Pak add-ons.
