Max Payne 3 due out in December?

The strong buzz among retailers now is that Max Payne 3 will be coming out this December.

With big stores like GameStop and Amazon pegging it for a December 1st release, it should be good enough to start the flames for this speculated date, right? The smoking gun, however, is that Amazon is claiming that this date is not a placeholder that they decided by themselves, but that it was given to them by the publisher, Rockstar Games, itself.

Explained Amazon in an email, "We have received new release date information related to your pre-ordered video game in the order you placed on November 11, 2010... The release date for the vieo game listed below has been changed by the publisher, and we want to provide you with a new delivery estimate based on the new release date."

The video game referred to is of course Max Payne 3, and the release date provided for by Rockstar is December 1st, 2011. Last year, Amazon also claimed Max Payne 3 to be coming out in January this year, but since we're already halfway through June, that obviously did not happen. Anyway, Rockstar did guarantee that this iteration will be more sophisticated, so that's definitely something to look forward to.
