And now for some update on the upcoming Mass Effect movie. Yes, it definitely is happening, in case that fact still hasn't registered in your head.

Movie studio Legendary Pictures has divulged some more details on the Hollywood adaptation of the famous Bioware series, confirming that Commander Shepard will indeed be taking front and center yet again.

However, take note that it's going to be the male ComShep, John, and not the lovely female. Not that there's anything wrong with that, though. The storyline, too, is said to be taking on a brand new story, totally distinct from what the first two games had to offer.

Yeah, we had that tingling sense of doom, too. We don't really know which way it's going to go, or if it's going to be touching on the storyline of Mass Effect 3, even. What we do know is that BioWare has confirmed that Commander Shepard's story will reach its end in the third iteration of the series.

Apart from that, the rumor that actor Seth Green will be taking on the role of Joker was debunked. So as it stands, we have no clue as to who's going to be in the film.

So, really, apart from this teeny bitty sense of information, everything's still pretty much hush-hush on the Mass Effect movie. As with any movie adaptation of a video game, we just hope they do the series justice, or else don't bother making it at all.

i have no issues with that, for as long as they make the movie right. it's always the fear of gamers watching their games be turned into hollywood films.

I would have prefered a femal shepard (also do so in the game).

Just just kinda refreshing to have a woman kick major ass :P

Most "action heroes" are male, so they could have done something different... seems they're going the safe route =/

Maybe it delves into the Skyllian Blitz, or his survival on Akuze...
