I'm currently trying to make a rig after going several years without one and using tiny, tiny laptops because I'm poor, live alone and work out of my parent's basement as I'm sure every one of you imagine. Every time I look up a new part, I genuinely get excited, checking prices, asking mates and looking around for every bit of information I can and then I came across this great article in PC Gamer where they were taking to a World of Warcraft developer about how PC Gaming is making a huge come back.

Tom Chilton is a veteran of PC Gaming development and has gone through over a decade of development seeing trends rise and fall and it looks like it's on the rise again as Chilton discussed with PC Gamer. Chilton was humble in noting the declining subscribers to WoW but was more positive about the industry as a whole.

“In a lot of ways I see the PC as potentially a re-emerging sort of platform, I think that the PC has always offered ways to approach games that you can’t necessarily approach on console, even if it’s just because of UI restraints.” It's good to see Chilton is more than aware of the 'competition' but how there's still a lot to be done PC. “Keyboard and mouse opens up options that you can’t get replicate as easily with a controller in RTS games like Starcraft 2. If you look at the way we do an MMO like World of Warcraft, our communication method and all that kind of stuff, it kind of implies a level of UI complexity that would be really hard to pull off on console.”

I think PC Gaming is still probably the best looking and more expansive of all gaming developments and a huge boom in Indie developers, creators and innovators in just the past few years have shown the potential for the industry...an industry that I hope to work in one day.

I play on Molten-WoW, the only PServer that runs a stable WOTLK Build, which is the true WoW. Cata is "WoW for babies"

TBC is where it's at! Wrath was ok but I much preferred TBC.

I miss the old days of spell power tanking on my Paladin :(

I agree though, Cata is poop.

Pc gaming never died people just got lazy cause it was easier to stick a dvd in the game console, press start and just sit back and enjoy the game. With most pc games you have to configure the audio, graphics and controls to your liking and system specs making it slightly more complicated.

Over all I prefer pc over this generation of game consoles, better graphics and cheaper games at least when compared to the price of ps3 games.
