Hey, Look, Zynga is Trying Real-Money Gambling |

Love Zynga? Didn’t think so. And if you’re not a fan of the company now, this latest story probably won’t do much to change your mind. It looks like Zynga is officially trying to get into the gambling business, as it has filed paperwork in Nevada seeking a gambling license.

We’re not exactly sure what Zynga is planning to do if the 12-18 month process ends in its favor, but the most obvious answer is allowing users to cash out their Zynga Poker chips with real cash (right now you can buy in, but not out). And since this is Zynga, we assume they’ll be stealing some other ideas that have worked well for other online gambling companies, and probably stealing some money as well.
The company is already on the real-money track in the UK, where its first gambling title should launch sometime in early 2013.
Thoughts? Would you trust Zynga with your dollars? Do you think this initiative will save the company?
