Here’s that Microsoft Tablet No One will Buy |

Apple has been dominating the tablet market for some time now. iPad sales are in the zillions and no one has managed to bring a serious competitor to bear. Microsoft is looking to change all that with its brand new Surface line of tablets, which run on Windows 8 and offer a unique bunch of features.

Look for two tablets to start with: An ARM-based model known as the RT, and an Intel-based processer known as the Surface Pro (which, gasp!, may play games!). Here’s the quick rundown provided by Microsoft:

Microsoft also unveiled what is arguably the coolest selling point for the device—its combination cover/physical keyboard (which you can see in the image above).
Of course, since this isn’t Apple we’re talking about, no pricing information was provided nor was there any concrete release date. We will (naturally) keep you posted.
In the meantime, what do you think? Can Microsoft launch a true iPad competitor, or is this Zune all over again?

Apple fanboy's
Please stay professional. That said, it's good that this will be coming out.
If company's keep pushing each other, better stuff will come.
That's how it works.

I've been waiting for something like this or better.
I was thinking about getting an Archos PC tablet or even a slate.

But if Microsoft are gonna be pushing for it directly then I want them to shut up and take my money.

That tablet is an impressive piece of hardware (the higher end models rocks Ivy Bridge for Pete's sake, but feel free not to mention that--not like that information is posted on Engadget, Gizmodo, Tom's Hardware, Anandtech, Mashable, etc.)
Whether or not it'll outsell the iPad isn't even a relevant point, because it's still a great piece of hardware that many people will buy.
