Guild Wars 2: A Million Out of the Gate |

Guild Wars 2 launched today. You probably didn’t notice, because you were too busy already playing Guild Wars 2 to give a shit about anything that’s happening outside of your house. And, thanks to the head start, beta, pre-order crap and every other “early release” thing, you’ve probably been playing since sometime last week.
Hell, there’s already a couple of level 80s roaming the hills.
But launch day brings good news for ArenaNet and NCSoft: The game moved over a million copies in pre-orders alone. Peak concurrency during early access? 400,000. Not too shabby for a game that hadn’t even hit shelves, eh?
We’ll have to wait and see how the performance levels off—MMOs tend to open big but can sometimes crash within a couple of months (SWTOR? What is that?).
