Via press wire, the GSC Game World, the minds behind S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl, have announced that the prequel to the first FPS-survival title in the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series may hit PCs early this fall. The August 29, 2008 date was planned by new game label GSC World Publishing in collaboration with Deep Silver, both whose names will appear on S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky's game package.

"Our intention to deliver the game simultaneously worldwide is both a challenge and big responsibility to the many fans of the game around the globe," said Sergiy Grygorovych of GSC World Publishing. According to the CEO, plans are set in motion to ensure that copies of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky get shipped to gamers on every part of the globe.

As revealed before, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky will revisit the Chernobyl disaster in a "possible world" scenario - that is, a second disaster in the vicinity was triggered. The player will re-enter the Zone and partake in the sequence of events that happened way before the Strelok campaign portrayed in the plot of the predecessor.
