Microsoft Game Studios today announced that the Games for Windows version of Epic Games' bestselling title Gears of War has finally gone gold. The game will launch in the U.S. on November 6 and in Europe on November 9. The game's European price tag has been set at GBP 34.99 (US$ 72).

Gears of War for PC will retain all of the content found in its Xbox 360 counterpart as well as all previously released downloadable content. In addition, the PC version will include original content, new Achievements and ultra-high resolution visuals.

On the single-player side, there are five new campaign chapters. Multiplayer mode has also been bolstered with three exclusive multiplayer maps, a "King of the Hill" game type and Games for Windows – LIVE support. Players can also access the Unreal Editor using the new game editor to develop their own user-created levels.
