GameStop Streaming Service to enter Beta soon |

With OnLive launching all over the world in the coming year, it looks like cloud gaming might be a big topic in the coming months with GameStop currently working on their own cloud gaming services soon, called Spawn.
Hoping to stream games from the 360 and the PS3 in 2012, after purchasing the company Spawn Labs, who were able to create a peer-to-peer gaming system, they promised a “wide selection of [HD] Video game on-demand on any internet-enabled device”, which is either amazing and possible for iPhone's or absolutely mad.

PC gaming was recently revealed a few days ago with publishers wanting to stream to smart devices via a dedicated Spawn software client, not dissimilar to Steam mixed with OnLive. President Tony Bartel recently claimed that “Spawn...began its first beta and is currently live, testing the streaming of [360, PS3] and PC games from a data centre in...Texas”, Bartell was on the ball with how positive he was with the experience with Spawn saying “we continue to get positive feedback from our publishing partners about the pro-console, low-investment model that we've chosen”
A viable business model for several companies such as OnLive and another company, Gaikai, which I only found out about recently. With very little dedicated hardware and a strong online support, this may be the way of the future.
