FAMAS getting nerfed in next Call of Duty: Black Ops update

Do you love using the FAMAS assault rifle in Call of Duty: Black Ops or do you dislike those who do? Either way, the gun's getting nerfed in the next Black Ops update.

This was revealed by Treyarch game design director David Vonderhaar. He posted on Twitter: "Nerfed the Famas in next update. Srsly."

Among the changes being made to the FAMAS are tweaks on ADS raise time, hip fire accuracy reduction, and slightly slower re-center speed. The gun will also become less accurate due to increased gun kick. The fire rate, damage, range, and magazine size will remain untouched.

A lot of gamers have apparently been calling for a FAMAS nerf, but according to Vonderhaar the new changes are not due to community pressure. "It's not the mob," he explained. "I've been thinking about editing this gun for a long time."

Call of Duty: Black Ops will soon be getting another downloadable content pack called Annihilation. The DLC will feature four new multiplayer maps and another Zombie experience. It'll be available on Xbox Live come June 28th but PC and PS3 gamers who want it will have to get it from GameStop.

They didn't add recoil. They increased the hip fire spread, slower ADS time, and they're slowing the recenter speed, which makes the recoil a little less manageable but it doesn't add any. Also as it had already been pointed out the 74U was patched. Please do your research before you come and start spewing a bunch of inaccurate bullshit.

Right...so they nerf this and not the AK74U? Hasn't it been nerfed enough already? In MW2 the FAMAS was awesome, but took good aim to use, then in Black Ops it's power was taken down and they made it auto, now they're adding recoil??

Wish the famas was a burst weapon instead and now to nerf noob tubing still around and it irritates me -_- and the ak74u needs a nerf badly damn some debs are just too biased

IDK why its being nerfed, the gun was ok to use, but never found it to be a "too good of a gun" thing. I only used it till I unlocked more assault rifles that you get in later levels. I actually thought this gun kinda sucked, and like everyone else said, I too wish it was a 3-round burst like in MW2. The 3-Round Burst Famas was a BEAST! I would have taken the Famas over the M16 any day! The 3-RB Famas was a little weak, but damn it was a fast fire rate and it didnt make a loud noise either. The M16 in MW2 had more power, but sometimes those 3 bullets wouldn't kill in one spray, and before you could lay off the second round of bullets, you would be dead.

It's just devs being biased -_- they probably play Online , got owned , and now they are nerfing it they need to nerf ak74u and all Granade launchers , those explosives only belong in battlefield with destructable environment

the sniper rifels,the shotguns both should be nerfed and the hatchet should NOT be able to be thrown all the way across the maps unless they make the grenades able to be thrown that far to and they should make it so that the flash bang only affects the enemy and not the person who used it

I think the thing that broke the balance of this weapon is that it has very little recoil/bullet spread compared to it's fire rate. Also that weapon has too much bullet penetration. As for the AK74u I think they nerfed it already.
