Fallout Creator Joins Obsidian Games |

The Fallout series has seen its fair share of developers. Created by Tim Cain in 1997, the original Fallout game was produced by Interplay. Fallout 2 followed in 1998, and the series went relatively dark until Bethesda released Fallout 3 in 2008 (Brotherhood of Steel notwithstanding). The most recent title in the franchise was produced by yet another developer, Obsidian Entertainment.

Tim Cain is now headed to serve as senior programmer at Obsidian, and while the press release doesn’t give us any information about another Fallout title, it would certainly be nice to think that Cain is returning to pick up the franchise he invented. New Vegas has just about run its course, with the Lonesome Road DLC likely being the last such content pack we see for a while to come.
Of course, Fallout has been known to bounce from studio to studio, so even snagging Cain might be enough to secure the next game for Obsidian. The only official title in the works at the studio is the Wheel of Time video game, named for the book series by Robert Jordan on which it is based.
I’d love to see another Fallout game, but it’s worth noting that Cain has spent years away from the franchise and it’s turned into a completely different beast. I guess, for the moment, we’ll just have to cross our fingers and hope for the best.
Would you like to see Obsidian put Cain to work on a brand new Fallout game?

If it's not just an expansion then yes.
Rather I'd like to see his ideas mixed with a modified Skyrim engine.
