We’ve all seen those pixel demakes, mockup 8-bit screenshots of modern videogames transformed into an 80’s title.

Well now we have a playable demake, based on none other than God Of War, and is available now, and free!

Developed by Holmade Games, Bit Of War has been in development since 2007, with the devs promising themselves each year, as a New Year’s Resolution, to put everything aside and give the project ‘the love and it deserved and complete it’. That’s half a decade of resolutions, all on an 8-bit platformer.

The game is available for Windows only (so far) free at the developer’s own website here.

The website has a little message at the top saying ‘Part Of The Holmade Games 8-Bit Series!’, which gives a tasty hint that we’ll be seeing more demakes based on popular franchises.
