Valve is all set to debut its long-awaited sequel to the popular Warcraft 3 mod Defense of the Ancients(DotA) at German trade show this month.

Valve has announced that they are bringing DotA 2 at Gamescom 2011 along with a US$1 million "The International" tournament. This is the first time the publisher will be showing the strategy sequel after it was confirmed late last year.
Aside from showing off the title, Valve has also revealed a grand tournament called "The International." It will feature 16 of the best Dota teams in the world competing in the Dota 2 Championships through a group stage, double elimination playoff format over the course of the five day event. The winning team will take home US$ 1 million in cash.
“The International is the first public Dota 2 event and will give the tens of millions of gamers playing Dota around the world their first look at the new game,” said Gabe Newell, president and founder of Valve. “I have had the good fortune to watch the competitors as they prepare for the tournament, and the level of play is extraordinary.”
GamesCom 2011 will start on August 17th through the 21st and will take place in Cologne, Germany. Dota 2 will be available for the PC and Mac later this year.
