DICE caution players against unofficial Battlefield 3 servers |

Battlefield 3's server files were leaked last week, leading to some unofficial servers popping up for the upcoming first person shooter's ongoing beta phase. DICE, for their part, have asked players to avoid these unofficial servers or run the risk of accounts getting compromised or -- gasp! -- banned.
"We are aware the a number of servers have appeared and are running game modes and player counts that have currently not been seen," associate producer Barrie Tingle posted on DICE's official forum. "Please try to remain on official servers." Official servers have a maximum of 32 players and are running the Operation Metro map on Rush mode.
He continued, "Playing on those servers can cause your account to be compromised, stats to be altered or other issues to arise which may lead to having yout account banned by EA." That last part is quite important, as having your account banned would mean that any other EA game you use that account for will also become unavailable to you.
Tingle assured gamers that they are currently working on a way to deal with the unofficial servers. Battlefield 3 will officially be released on October 25th in the US and on October 28th in Europe.
