Diablo III to Receive Major Changes

Diablo III’s beta has been trucking steadily along, and while we did receive a bit of a tip in the form of a leaked release date, news has been relatively scarce. Essentially, we know that the beta is in progress and that the game is set for release sometime this year – there haven’t been any big bombshells.

Today’s news marks the biggest tidbit we’ve gotten on the subject. Diablo’s director, Jay Wilson, made a statement on the official Diablo blog that the Blizzard team would be tweaking some of the in-game systems thanks to player feedback. Here’s a list of some of the changes mentioned:

Removal of Scrolls of Identification
Removal of Cauldron of Jordan
Removal of Nephalem Cubes
Adjustment of core character stats
Common items are no longer salvageable
Blacksmiths can now salvage items
Addition of a dedicated potions button
Removal of Mystic artisan

Until they provide an off line single player version of the game they can keep Diablo III. I always found Diablo games best enjoyed single player. No support for off line single player means I will not buy this game, have 0 interest in playing the game online. I may be the only one who feels this way but I am entitled to my opinion.

How can they remove Scrolls of Identification! That's such a Diablo thing its almost as much of the game as Diablo himself! Boy, every single day I get more and more apprehensive about this....

D3 is finished...It most likely had been finished for at least 2 years. It will not be release until WOW dies...I guarrantee it. They are not interested in competing against themselves. No one can beat WOW...so lets wait to release d3 until the number drop a bucnh. Be ready to wait a long time more before it releases

You do realize that these are two are completely different games being developed by Blizzard I hope! This means that each game will attract a different audience. Also comparing Diablo 3 to Wow is stupid considering how completely different the two games are. Diablo 3 is primaraily a hack n slash game, at least 1 and 2 were.
