A lot of Blizzard news today, huh?

So fans of Diablo, looks like being stood up at the prom wasn't going to be the only thing that was gonna make you wait, as Diablo III has been postponed yet again despite Blizzard saying it might be out in early 2012.

I went to an EB Games yesterday and I noticed that even they've stopped trying to put a release date up, as a large poster professing the year of future releases just had 2012 under their Diablo 3 promotional material. It's good to cover your arse but look we only just heard about Resident Evil 6 and without any major delays we know that it's gonna be out this year and in what month.

We've known about Diablo and the sick things Blizzard have done to it in the mean time (See: DRM) and we've been hearing news about it for almost two years now. You'd think they'd know the work ethic of the guys at Blizzard. Either they're giving them a lot of time to fix things up or they're all making a giant list from ThisIsWhyImBroke.com and how many hookers they'll buy whenever the game comes out.

So officially Blizzard released an official financial report today and Activision stated that Diablo III will be released in Q2, which is usually the April-June 2012. I remember it being one of the most anticipated releases of 2011 and that people had rumoured that it would be released on February 1st. Blizzard said, Nope, you're wrong and laughed in people's faces while slowly releasing videos and said that they were making a series of changes.

Blizzard have also stated that with Diablo III they are only releasing one other title this year, despite a large series of announced projects such as WoW: Mists of Panderia and the Starcraft II expansion, Heart of the Swarm.

Do you think Diablo III will be worth the wait after all this time? It's been over a decade since Diablo II and while I do agree Blizzard have been busy with Starcraft II and WoW, you'd think they'd be working on original IP's as well.

Why work hard at anything when they can suck the money whoring teet of the WoW community? Honestly, they're raking it in just on memberships alone and they really don't have to work as hard as any of the current gaming companies right now. Deadlines? BAH! Who cares! Let's shovel some more shit at those WoW kids! Even if our new games bomb, we don'e need to worry!

Will it be worth the wait? Simply put: yes.
I've been in the beta for about a little over 2 weeks now, and I've played it for more than 45 hours. And the beta only includes the first act of the game and doesn't go past the ridiculously easy "Normal" difficulty. It's quite fun.

If they can tweak the first act to be more challenging then I'm happy with that.

I haven't even come close to dying from my whole run through of the first act. Even Diablo II first act endboss nearly killed me on several occasions. >_
