Warren Spector, best known as the lead designer behind the original Deus Ex, has given his thoughts to GamesIndustry.biz regarding Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

He did have some issues with the game, but in general it’s safe to say he enjoyed it. He said that he found himself at times ‘screaming at his television on more than one occasion’. Some things obviously frustrated or angered him, but seeing as he thinks they ‘did a wonderful job’, he didn’t say it. He attributed his screaming to things being ‘not right or wrong’, [but] different to what I [expected]’.

Can’t quite see a man screaming at his television and shouting ‘Noooooo, why did you do this? Noooo!’ over something being ‘different’, but that’s what he says. He did say, however, that he knows the guys who developed it and is aware how dedicated and respectful they were.

‘Their hearts were in the right places.’ Well, I’m sure that makes them all very chuffed with themselves.

Are you a fan of the original? What do you think of Human Revolution’s effort?

Deus Ex HR was one of the better more innovative games in the FPS genre during the last couple years, and I think that it improved a lot of things from the original.

"improved a lot of things from the original" really? Either you are a 10 year old who is yet to play the original since its from a time before you were born or you are one of those nuts who judge a game by its graphics and other eye candy stuff. HR is a good game no doubt but the original Deus Ex is dubbed 'The Game of the Millennium'. Just FYI.

Well, I'm not one to judge entirely by graphics, and I'm certainly not 10.

The improvements I was talking about are these:

Less stiff movements

Better aiming system

Better interfaces

Better(more matching) voice acting
(e.g. Paul Denton's voice didn't match how the character looked in my opinion)

Glowing, yellow, important items( )

Regenerating health( )

There's more, but it's been a while since I played either game, so I can't really remember.
